Developing Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELT): A Student Learning and Academic Briefing Session – Thursday 6th July, 9.30-10am (online)

A commitment to enhancing the quality of teaching in higher education has never been more important with institutional approaches to promoting teaching excellence increasingly needing to reflect in depth on multiple aspects of policy and practice. Relatedly, it is important that the university has mechanisms in place for celebrating best practice and recognising opportunities for future development achieving sustainable teaching excellence.

Student Learning and Academic Registry (SLAR) adopts a holistic approach to supporting and enhancing teaching excellence across the institution. This is addressed through a combination of the strategic priorities outlined below in an integrated programme of activities with the aim of Developing Excellence in Leaching and Teaching. As presented below, there are three core workstreams including: 1) Learning and Teaching CPD; 2) the Recognising Excellence in Learning and Teaching (RELT) and National Teaching Fellowship (NTF) and Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) schemes; 3) LTExChange symposia and pedagogic research series.

This Student Learning and Academic Registry (SLAR) briefing session will take place online Thursday July 6th (09.30 – 10.00am)  will outline the university’s commitment to both enhancement and recognition within the learning and teaching space providing an illustration of how they are operationalised and aligned, alongside wider CPD, to support academic staff.
