Together with Turnitin, Teesside University is hosting an institution-wide event bringing together a wide range of academics and practitioners to discuss how we continue to reimagine the support for the development of student’s academic skills in light of generative AI tools. The rise of generative AI systems like ChatGPT, adds another layer of complexity to the issue of academic integrity. These systems can generate humanlike responses to a wide range of prompts, including essay questions. The question is: If the AI is good enough to produce something that could be a student’s work, how will we ever really know what is the student’s work and what was done by a machine? The event will be collaborative and aims to encourage conversations around how learning, knowledge creation, and assessment practices can be reimaged to support the development of future readiness in our graduates.

Bookings are currently open and will close on Monday 24th April at 12 noon.
