Microsoft has announced a new, free interactive guide to support development of digital capabilities. The tool is aimed at students, researchers, academics and educational administrators, and distinct learning paths are provided for each respective group.
The tool includes different digital skill levels – bronze, silver and gold – for each stream. Bronze skills foster productivity, they are the skills someone needs to fulfil their everyday work. Silver skills explore creativity, they enable the use of technology to create and collaborate. The gold programme nurtures the use of technology to inspire and innovate through digital technology, these skills aim to help you change your world and address future challenges.
Clare Riley, Further Education and Higher Education Engagement Manager at Microsoft, said the tool would provide people with skills that would unleash new possibilities. She said, “Our easy-to-use online tool is designed to help you assess your digital literacy and capabilities and identify the necessary courses and resources to accelerate your learning, research capabilities or impact as a teacher. It will guide you through a three-level curriculum with plenty of free online resources to raise your digital readiness to new heights and help you become future leaders in business and academia.”
