Assessment Regulations/Variance Clinics 

Monday 14th March 2022, 10.30-12.30 via MS Teams

As part of the Course Approval/Review design process, in order to support Course Teams, the Student Learning & Academic Registry APR team are offering a series of Clinics for course teams to work through aspects of their proposed course design that may be impacted by the features of the assessment regulations (e.g. Compensation, trailing, exceptional third attempt). The Clinics will also provide an opportunity for Course Teams to identify any possible variances and work these through along with advice on how to submit variance applications.

Assessment Board Chairs Workshop

Wednesday 16th March 2022, 09.30-11am – M6.09, Middlesbrough Tower

An Assessment Board Chairs workshop must be undertaken, on an annual basis, by anyone who will be chairing an Assessment Board (Module and/or Progression and Award Board). Due to the level of experience and seniority required to chair assessment boards, it will normally be limited to Deans, Associate Deans, Heads of Department or at an equivalent level at a partner college

Continuous Monitoring and Enhancement (CME) is the process the University uses to assure academic standards are maintained and to enhance the quality of learning opportunities for students.

This session will be particularly relevant for new Course Leaders or existing Course Leaders wanting a reminder.
