ReView is Teesside University’s lecture capture solution and a great tool to utilise through the transition to hybrid learning. It gives a straightforward approach to recording lectures and other video content that your students can access in their own time. This greatly enhances the student experience, and the rich video content will most certainly be of benefit to all students.

Benefits of using ReView

If you are looking to create content which would normally be part of a face-to-face lecture, as part of our Hybrid Learning model, we would encourage you to use ReView in a variety of ways to share subject knowledge. It can be used for ‘personal capture’, such as monologues, walk throughs, short ‘did you know’ videos or quick responses to student questions. For example, a walk through of how to use the module space online, or a run through of an exam question that you know a lot of students struggle with. This can give a more personal approach to your teaching.

Using ReView to create video content makes it a lot more accessible for students. The student simply needs to press play and the video will automatically stream based on the device the student is using. They don’t need specific software, and they don’t need to download the video before playing.

Setting up ReView and using the software is fairly easy, and more information on where to start with ReView can be found in this help guide: https://eatsupport.tees.ac.uk/staff/knowledgebase/getting-started-with-review/

When you upload a video to your Blackboard module via ReView, it does not count as part of your module quota, meaning you could have an infinite number of ReView videos if you wanted!
