What is it?
Padlet is a bit like a bulletin board where participants can post a variety of items onto a digital wall.
What’s it for?
A great tool for online collaboration on a number of topics. Across the University, we’ve seen people using Padlet for activities such as brain storming, sharing ideas, expressing opinions, getting feedback and so on.
Is there an app for it?
Yes, but students can access Padlet through a number of different methods – such as a standard browser and it can even be embedded into a Blackboard module. Padlet can also be accessed through a smart phone.
How long does it take to set up?
You can create a wall in minutes. There are a few options to tweak, depending on your needs. Sharing the wall is also pretty quick – again, in a few minutes you should be able to share the wall with your colleagues or students.
Are other people using it?
Yes, across the University, we’re finding there’s a lot of great examples of people using Padlet. You can read about how staff in TUBS have used Padlet to support induction events.
Are there any limitations?
If you are using Padlet for free, then you are limited to 3 walls. However, you can save the contents of a wall and then re-use it.
Do you have any more resources available?

Support for Students
Dedicated iPad support for students is available from Nicki Wise who is based on the ground floor of the Library. Nicki’s role is to help and support students to get maximum benefit from their devices and the toolkit.
Nicki is available to students for drop ins between 09:00-16:00, Monday to Friday throughout Semester 1 in the Library. Students can also book a 1 to 1 session with Nicki.
