Teesside University will this month launch three national student surveys coordinated by the Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy). The surveys, which open on Friday 26 April and close on Friday 17 May, will broaden our understanding of the experiences of our students, allowing us to drive enhancements based on a robust evidence base. As national surveys, the results will allow Teesside University to benchmark the experiences of our students against the sector.
We will be launching three surveys this month, namely:
- UK Engagement Survey (UKES)
- Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
- Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)
The UK Engagement Survey is closely modelled on the US National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). In contrast to other surveys, UKES explores the experiences of students both within and beyond their academic studies, rather than focussing on measures of satisfaction. At Teesside University, level 5 undergraduates will be invited to respond to UKES.
PTES and PRES explore the experiences of our postgraduate community, including perceptions of skills development and supervision. Doctoral students will be invited to complete PRES, whilst taught postgraduates will complete PTES.
All students who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 Amazon voucher.
