Join the QAA Membership community for the flagship Quality Insights Conference 2023 to explore notions of success across the learner journey.
- Unpacking the role of academic communities and the transformation of the unknown (spaces, technology, pedagogy) into the familiar.
- Reflecting on the lasting impact of higher education and how we are preparing graduates for the future, including employment.
- Sharing innovative approaches to evaluating quality assurance and enhancement.
Open to all staff and students from institutions with full QAA Membership*, the conference will showcase leading practice in higher education from a range of dynamic UK and international guest speakers.
Conference themes
Through a mix of keynote presentations, panel discussions, parallel sessions and lightning talks, the conference will address three core themes:
- Creating successful academic communities
- Graduate outcomes and attributes for the real world
- Evaluating and enhancing practice
Professor Sam Elkington (SLAR), along with Professor Paul Chesterton (SHLS) and Dr. Ann Thanaraj (SLAR) will be presenting work completed as part of a funded QAA Collaborative Enhancement Project.
The title of the project is “Harnessing Multimodality in Higher Education: Principles for New Learning, Teaching and Assessment” and involves a total of four University Alliance institutions (including Anglia Ruskin University, Birmingham City University, University of Greenwich) with Teesside University as the lead partner.
The project aims to capture and examine a range of practice innovations in multimodal digital education, resulting in the co-creation of cross-institutional principles and interactive resources that model truly future-facing learning, teaching, and assessment.
