Focus on the Future
With so many uncertainties and competing priorities, some students will have put their career plans on hold until recently. The Student Futures team is available to support students, whatever stage they are at https://tees.ac.uk/studentfutures/
This is a particularly challenging time for finalists who face a volatile labour market and possible changes to graduate job offers they have received. There is no doubt there are fewer job opportunities available, however, employers continue to contact the team to advertise their vacancies and with the right advice there are constructive ways finalists can prepare to get a graduate role or placement.
The team is putting a support package in place for 2020 graduates, which includes an autumn internship programme. We also provide the latest advice on how to find jobs and do well throughout the online selection process, whether that involves an application form, psychometric tests, producing a polished CV or standing out in a video interview.
Student Futures have produced a document detailing ‘10 things that all Students should know’, this can be found here
Students and graduates can book a telephone appointment to speak to one of the team. You can also refer students by emailing us: Meet the team
The support remains available throughout the summer and to graduates for as long as they need it afterwards.
Student Futures works closely with the alumni team to keep our graduates in touch with the University, to remind them about the support that is available and to involve them in the Graduate Outcomes survey that takes place within 15-18 months of them leaving the University.
