Teesside 2025: Meeting the needs of the online learner – Future Facing Learning conference March 7th

The Higher Education landscape is changing, it has been for over a decade now, both in England, the UK and across the world.

This is due to globalisation and the competition from across the globe in how HE is being delivered, changes to the way we trade, do business, the needs and expectations of our learners, our regulatory requirements in the quality and method of delivery of education – and the ubiquitous advancement of technology, its affordances in taking education to a global reach.

Teesside University is embracing these factors, in particular optimizing the affordances of globalisation and technology to offer Teesside University Online Learning courses across a wide variety of subject disciplines. Our aim is to make education accessible to everyone; it is for those looking to invest in their future, gain a formal qualification to take their career to the next level or simply for those who have a thirst to learn.

This strategic change and transformation project is built on our 85 years of teaching and learning excellence and over 30 years track-record of high-quality, stand-alone, open learning education.

Come to our Future Facing Learning conference on 7th March 2019, to find out the plans that are currently underway in the Online Distance Learning team and how we are planning to create courses which offer a learning experience putting the needs of our students at the heart of the TU Online Learning offer, whilst ensuring that learning in an online space is meaningful and purposeful for the real world of work.

Our presentation is titled: Teesside 2025: Meeting the needs of the online learner. To find out more before our presentation, please contact Ann Thanaraj: a.thanaraj@tees.ac.uk
