Formative Assessment Processes

This workshop provides an interactive, open, and supportive environment for colleagues to engage with and reflect on different models for effective formative assessment processes whilst critically considering innovative sector best practice.

In a practical sense, formative assessment is how we shift the focus from our teaching to student learning. Key to this shift in focus is ensuring that there is ample time and opportunity within and across modules for students to benefit from feedback they receive and put their learning into practice in subsequent activities

Staff will be guided to consider the key considerations for designing in low-stakes formative assessment strategies as an integral feature of effective teaching practices, supporting and enhancing student motivation, engagement, and higher levels of achievement
