UKAT – Tutoring Matters Webinar – Using student data to enhance personal tutoring: insights from pre-arrival surveys and feedback journals
Thursday 19 October at 2pm
About this Webinar
As personal tutors, we want to know our students better and help them achieve their academic goals. But how can we access and use the data that is available to us about our students and their learning? How can we use this data to provide personalised and effective support to our students?
Join us for this webinar where we will hear from two experts who have been using different kinds of student data to inform and improve their personal tutoring practice. Dr Alex Moores from the University of Kent will share how she uses pre-arrival surveys to gain insights into the needs and expectations of her students, both at the cohort and individual level. She will show how this data can help personal tutors to tailor their support and advice to their students. Dr Joanne Berry from Swansea University will demonstrate how she uses feedback journals and reflection to engage her students with the feedback they receive on their work. She will explain how this helps her students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and how personal tutoring can facilitate this process.
This webinar will offer you practical examples of how to use student data to enhance your personal tutoring. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share your own experiences with the speakers and other participants. Don’t miss this chance to learn from your peers and improve your personal tutoring skills!
