As expected this was a stimulating conference and I have brought back lots of ideas we could follow up on here – I intend to chat to Paul Durston about what might be worthwhile/possible to progress. There was a good deal of interest in our project and I did distribute some of the project flyers that Kareen/Jeanette organised for us. I also invited colleagues who attended our project session to partner with us in testing the OER Units – I haven’t had any takers yet but it was worth a shot. I provided the project blog address as part of the slides as this will enable those anyone interested access to the resources we are releasing as an alternative to Jorum. I am not sure whether or not I will manage to hit the deadline but I intend to try to write up the presentation to form part of the conference proceedings booklet as colleagues I spoke to at the conference indicated that the strategy of embedding the project blog address/information on how to access specific OERs in papers they had written had been an effective means of enabling others to access their open resources.
Whilst I was away we learned that our proposal for the SEDA/HEA conference: Open Horizons on 20th July has also been accepted. The proposal focuses on the DL Unit so getting ready for this will give Babs and I something to do over the next few weeks!
