Managing Urgent Situations (Apprenticeships)

July 19, 2024 - 13:00 - 14:30

LTE Online

Managing Urgent Situations (Apprenticeships) – The training enables staff members to gain an understanding of how to respond to an urgent situation and provides information on appropriate referrals routes for learners. The training covers how to initially respond to a learner in distress including approaches to gathering the information required to then consider the most appropriate referral route.

An overview of the services will be provided that are available within the Mental health and welfare team including criteria our on-call urgent response service and information to support staff in identifying when a learner may need urgent support rather than a routine referral.

The training also provides advice around boundaries for staff and covers the importance of handing over to the specialist team where necessary, including when it is appropriate to breach confidentiality.

The session will allow time for apprenticeship staff to consider how this could apply within apprenticeships with time for Q&A
