We understand that choosing a university and a course is a huge decision. There’s lots of options to consider, and we know you’ll have questions about our courses, the campus, the support, the city, the transport and of course, the food. Attending a Teesside University London open day is the best way for you to get the answers to those important questions.

To help you, we’ve put together this blog with our tips on how to get the most out of our open day.

Be prepared

Take a look on the Teesside University London website to find out when our next open day is taking place and book yourself a place: teessi.de/TULondonOpenDays

Once you’ve booked a place, you’ll need to know how to find us. We are based at Here East in Stratford. Here East is a vibrant, contemporary space and we are proud to offer a modern campus. The nearest tube station is Stratford (Central and Jubilee lines) and the nearest overland station is Hackney Wick. We also offer a free shuttle bus from Stratford International or Stratford City Station.

Plan your journey to our open day in advance so you know how you are travelling and what time you’ll need to set off.

*We may be able to offer travel reimbursements to any colleges wanting to make a group booking or individuals wishing to attend our open day. Please get in touch for further information.

We would also encourage you to have a think beforehand about what you might want to study before you visit us and would recommend that you look at our website to find out more about the range of courses we offer here.

Make a list and prioritise the courses you want to find out more about so that you don’t miss speaking to the course tutors in that area.

Explore our campus and city

We offer guided tours of our campus at our open day so you can get a feel for student life at Teesside University London. You’ll also get the opportunity to explore your subject of interest with our academics.

The campus has been designed with industry and employers as an environment where industry professionals and academics can come together. It’s largely open plan and includes a forum with raised circular seating for more interactivity and collaboration. From our outside terrace, you get impressive views across London – see the Shard, Gherkin and Canary Wharf and the rest of the Olympic Park.

Here East is part of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and offers food and coffee outlets and a gym. There’s even a spa, barbers and retro video-game bar. We would encourage you to explore the full area so you can get a taste of the vibrant lifestyle offered at Here East.

Ask questions

We know that choosing a university and a degree is an important and big decision, so ask as many questions as you need. Prepare a checklist of everything you want to ask. It’s easy to get swept up in the atmosphere of the day and leave without getting your questions answered so having a checklist will keep you on track.

Apply to secure your place

If you’re a UK applicant, you can apply through UCAS late applications, or through UCAS Extra. If you haven’t applied anywhere yet, you can submit your application through the UCAS website as a late applicant, or if you’ve used all five of your university choices and still haven’t secured a place, UCAS Extra is open from February to June.

If you didn’t use all your choices in your initial application, you can add another choice as long as you aren’t holding any offers.

A member of our team can support you with your application and can answer any questions relating to UCAS during your visit to our open day.

See you soon.
