Jetpack ‘Site Stats’

Once you have enabled Jetpack on your blog you can view ‘Site Stats’. Site Stats lets you view information about your blog, including the number of visitors, popular pages and how visitors found your blog.

‘Site Stats’ works without any configuration, however you might want to change some of the advanced settings to suit your needs.

How to view ‘Site Stats’

  1. If you are not already logged into your blog, click the ‘log in’ link from the main page of blogs.tees.
  2. Enter your username and password then click ‘Log In’
  3. From the Dashboard menu click ‘Jetpack’
  4. Click the ‘Site Stats’ link in the ‘Jetpack’ section of the Dashboard menu.
  5. You will then be taken to the ‘Site Stats’ for your blog.

How to change advanced settings for ‘Site Stats’

  1. From the Dashboard menu click ‘Jetpack’
  2. Click the ‘Configure’ icon for ‘WordPress.com Stats’.
  3. On this page you can configure advanced settings for the ‘Site Stats’.
    It is recommended to change the following options:

    • Smiley – Place a tick in the ‘Hide the stats smiley face image’ option.

    Click ‘Save configuration’ to save the changes.

Enabling Jetpack on your blog

Jetpack is a plugin for WordPress that adds a number of features you might find useful for your blog. These include Statistics, Social Sharing, Shortcodes and extra widgets, for more information on all of the features, click here.

To enable Jetpack on your blog do the following:

  1. If you are not already logged into your blog, click the ‘log in’ link from the main page of blogs.tees.
  2. Enter your username and password then click ‘Log In’
  3. On your blog Dashboard you’ll see a banner for Jetpack, click the ‘Learn More’ icon.
  4. Click the ‘Connect to WordPress.com’ icon.
  5. If you already have a WordPress.com account enter your username and password here, click ‘Authorize Jetpack’ and skip to step 9. If you don’t, click the ‘Need an account?’ link on the left.
  6. On the next page your email address should already be entered, choose a username and enter a password. Click the ‘Sign up’ button.
  7. WordPress.com will now send you an email, once received click the ‘Activate Account’ link contained within it which will take you back to the account signup process.
  8. Click the ‘Authorize Jetpack’ icon.
  9. You should now see the ‘Connected to WordPress.com’ message on the top banner, you can now activate or configure Jetpack features. For more information on these visit the Jetpack ‘About‘ page.
