Here, you can ask any questions you may have surrounding your personal and academic aims during your time at university.<\/p>\n<p>Our tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be prepared \u2013 have a list of questions or concerns ready for your tutors<\/li>\n<li>review course modules \u2013 familiarise yourself with the course content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Induction sessions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You receive an overview of your course and an introduction to the University\u2019s systems and procedures, and the digital resources available to you as a Teesside University London student. These sessions cover important topics such as campus safety, how to access student services and student wellbeing support.<\/p>\n<p>Our tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be engaged \u2013 participate actively and don\u2019t hesitate to ask questions<\/li>\n<li>take notes \u2013 important information about registration deadlines, academic resources, and student societies are shared.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Campus tour<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our friendly student ambassadors take you on a tour of the Here East campus and wider Olympic Park. You can check out the Here East Canalside cafes and bars (we love the Four Quarters retro gaming bar) and all the technology and innovation companies that call Here East their home.<\/p>\n<p>Our tip:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>explore \u2013 take the time to wander around after the tour to familiarise yourself with the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Here East Freshers Fest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Here East Freshers Fest is taking place on <strong>Thursday 26 September, 1pm \u2013 5pm<\/strong> in the campus courtyard. It brings together students from across all five universities on the Here East campus to celebrate the start of the academic year. There is live music, food, entertainment and tables set up by various retailers and community services across the campus and local area.<\/p>\n<p>Our tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>gather information \u2013 collect brochures, coupons and any freebies offered<\/li>\n<li>ask questions \u2013 enquire about any services you might need throughout the year, such as mental health support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Self-care and relaxation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s completely normal to feel overwhelmed with all of the information being thrown at you, that\u2019s why it\u2019s important to step back and make time for yourself to reflect on the week as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Our tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be organised \u2013 keep track of important dates and tasks<\/li>\n<li>take a breath \u2013 allow yourself time to adjust to these new experiences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Welcome Week is the first exciting step in your new journey. By taking part in the activities being held on campus and accessing the resources available to you, you can make the most out of that first step.
