Stockton Wrestling Club Takes It To The Mat

Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the history of mankind.

However, it suffered a huge blow in early 2013 when the International Olympics Committee decided to drop the sport for the 2016 games in Rio.

On September 8th 2013, hope was restored for wrestling when it was announced that it would be reinstated for the 2020 and 2024 Olympic games.

This year has proved to have a major affect on amateur wrestling clubs like Stockton Wrestling Club.

I went to the club to find out about how much of an affect the decisions by the IOC has had on up-and-coming wrestlers in the North East and Head Coach Dave Sudron who refereed in the 2012 games in London.
