An aspiring Teesside University graduate has won a competition to remodel the bar at Leeds’ First Direct Arena.
The design by Kyle Minnock, an interior architecture graduate currently working at a Leeds design studio, was chosen by public vote following a competition run on social media website Tumblr.
Kyle will now work with First Direct to make the bar a reality by October. He said: “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and my future as an interior architecture graduate.”
A panel of experts including First Direct chief executive Tracy Garrad and Leeds Retail Association founder David Laycock helped whittle down initial entries to a shortlist of five.
Ms Garrad added: “Kyle’s design concept represents Leeds and the First Direct brand perfectly.”
