DELIVERY MODE: Online Workshop (1.5 hours) (Claire Hart)
Despite calls for increased inclusivity in research, diversity is rarely reflected in research evidence. Diverse populations of all kinds are underrepresented, and the wealthiest, healthiest and most vocal populations gain the most from research outcomes. This workshop aims to help you if you plan to open your studies to a more representative group of participants or target a ‘hard to reach’ group.
DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOP
This session is suitable for researchers at any stage of their career and will cover:- identifying barriers to inclusive research engagement
– exploring inclusive methodologies
– establishing practical means of engagement and participant support.
In advance of the workshop, participants are asked to consider who is included and excluded from their research plans – however accidentally.
