Course Description

RIS will be running a regular ‘final Thursday’ session for those interested in discussing anything research funding-related – so, everything from potential funding sources and how to resource your project, strategies for bid writing to the latest machinations over (future) EU funding arrangements and post-award management. Questions we frequently get asked are:

“What do different funders look for?”,

“What is our /TU experience (success rates) bidding to particular schemes (e.g., New Investigator, Advanced Fellowship)?”, “What should I do to be sure my idea aligns to the grant opportunity?”

And potentially many more besides. So if you are an ECR wanting advice on your first bid or an established member of staff looking to restart/expand your horizons in terms of external funding, do drop in and chat to us (you don’t need to book an appointment). The sooner we hear about your potential plans the more support we can give to you.

The following individuals will be present at each drop-in session:

Elena Calin (Pre-Award Officer);

Tracey Winn (Pre-Award Officer)

Susan Mitchell (Research Funding Manager, SSH&L, TUBS);

Oliver Moss (Research Fellow / Research Funding Manager, SCEDT, MIMA, TUBS);

Anna Stikane (Research Funding Manager, H&LS);

Andrea Palfreeman (Post-Award Officer);

As colleagues drop-in, however, the group might break into smaller groups depending on the amount of different issues raised and the number of people attending.
