The Boosting Your Research Profile Programme is open to all researchers, from PGR to Professor, and supports attendees to develop their academic profile, improve their communication skills, and write high quality publications. By the end of the course you will be able to:
- use appropriate platforms and social media to enhance your research profile
- take a strategic approach to research writing and publication
- write publications suitable for REF
- deliver engaging and innovative presentations
- engage with research leadership opportunities and participate in shared leadership
Fast-track programmes are intensive programmes that require time and dedication and are targeted at researchers within our nine research centres. Programmes consist of a mixture of online workshops, webinars, independent learning, and group work.

In addition to the eight sessions, participants will be assigned preparation/tasks in between sessions (30-60 mins), have the opportunity to book 1-2-1 Consultations on abstract writing (30 mins), and attend further writing bootcamps (2 hours).
OUTPUTS: Over the duration of this course, you will produce:
- an elevator pitch
- an engaging biography
- a high quality and REF-aligned abstract
- short and engaging research presentation
Given limited capacity and to ensure these programmes are useful and effectively meet your needs, an application based approach is taken. Applications will be require approval from your Research Centre Director or PGR Supervisor.
