I moved on to become Head of Marketing and Communications at the Great North Air Ambulance Service, as part of an award-winning team which gained international recognition for its pioneering pre-hospital care service. I then joined Teesside University in 2022 and am currently a Senior Lecturer in Digital Journalism.<\/p>\n<p>As a journalism student you learn practical and professional skills, growing your confidence to produce journalistic content suitable for TV, radio, magazines, print and social media. And get your work published on TUXtra, our online news service broadcasting worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Industry links<\/strong><br \/>\nWe have strong links with national and local news media. Many Teesside graduates are working in the industry and continue to shape our courses. We have one of the biggest media companies in the UK right here on our Middlesbrough campus \u2013 Reach PLC have offices here and offers our students the chance to work in their newsroom as part of their studies.<\/p>\n<p>Journalism teaches us to be concise in our writing, which is why we\u2019ve limited this to just five reasons.
