Growth of Snake and Cactus

  

 Growth is a process by which organisms are increasing in mass and size and are irreversible over a given period. 

 Snake Growth  

        Snakes scale from 4 inches (10 cm) to more than 30 feet (9 meters) in longitude. The skeletal structure of the snake has hundreds of tiny vertebrae and ribs spacing them and attached through an elaborate system of muscles, creating extraordinary flexibility.

          It covered an extremely elastic skin attaches to the muscles and with scales made of keratin — the same substance as human fingernails. The epidermis, which is the outer layer of skin, generates the scales of snake.

   As it developed, snake scales’ number and pattern remain the same, although a snake’s scales are shed several times throughout its life. Unlike people who shed worn-out skin constantly in tiny pieces, snakes shed all their scales and outer skin in one piece during a process called moulting. 

        As time goes on, skin and scale of snakes lay up or damage, the epidermis makes new cells to separate the old skin from the developing inner layer. The new cells liquefy, creating a soft external layer.

          When the outer layer is ready to shed, the snake scrapes the edges of its mouth against a rough surface, such as a rock, until the outer layer begins to fold back around its head. It continues scraping and crawling until it is completely free of the dead skin.  

        The moulting process, which takes 14 days, is repeated after anywhere from a few days to a few months. Like people, snakes grow rapidly until they reach their completion, which can take one to nine years. Nevertheless, snake growth much slowed after maturity but never cease. It is a phenomenon known as indeterminate growth. Snake life expectancy is from four to beyond 25 years, depending on the species. 

 Growth of Cactus 

                     People know that cactus grows mostly in the desert, and they do not realise that cactus can grow indoor and forest. For cactus to develop, some conditions are needed and useful for its expansions. These are light (sunlight), soil nutrients, water, PH and substances, temperature, and humidity. 

                   As all multicellular and unicellular organisms, light is essential for healthy development through our life cycle. Cactus needs to consume at last six hours of daily light to stimulate their growth. Excess of sunlight or other lighting devices can harm another cactus. 

                Good, adapted soil should also be the key to their development of cactus. Us human, we relied on productive soil for food, cactus does the same and for that to happen. Sand, pebbles, or porous provide excellent drainage and plenty of aeration.

Water activates the growing process of plant. Cactus receives water rarely (every six weeks or more in some deserts) and when they get it, water trigger rapid development of each part spikes, roots, areole, etc. This liquid mostly comes from rain and tsunami. 

                   Substances such as phosphorus and nitrogen are crucial elements for rooting of cactus pads and other cactus propagules. They mostly grow in an acidic environment with a PH range of 5 – 6.5. 

               favourable Condition is necessary for an excellent quality cactus to develop and expand their life cycle. Temperature value of 70 or more degrees Fahrenheit can be suitable for this plant growth and development. Cactus enlargement mostly occurred under harsh conditions (hot temperature). Their humidity, however, is low and can be experimented indoor, ranging from 40 to 60 percent.
