Friday Festival #1 – Isle of Wight

We said we would bring you some festivals over the summer … so here is our first recommendation.

The Isle of Wight music festival was scheduled for this weekend.  Although the live event has been cancelled there are a couple of ways you can enjoy a virtual festival from the comfort of your own home (or outside for the authentic drenched, cold and muddy version!).  Both Sky Arts and Absolute Radio are broadcasting their own programmes over the weekend.

Absolute Radio have a full lineup from 7pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with 22 sets in total.  Find out more about the Front Room Festival. While Sky Arts are also showing classic sets from 7pm till midnight on each of the three nights as part of their IoW Greatest Hits show.

Feel like something different?

If the IoW festival isn’t your thing why not curate your own festival with our Box of Broadcasts subscription which is free for Teesside Uni students. Choose from 65 tv and radio channels with content available from the 1990s to right now! You can create clips and playlists to save or share. Find out more, including how to sign up, and the link to BoB on our Databases list.

Whetted your appetite?

We’ll be recommending other online festivals and curating some of our own over the coming months so watch this space. And add a comment if you have suggestions for content on our blog, whether it’s study skills or something to brighten your weekend.
