Find out how to make digital technologies work for you \u2013 and share the skills you have already with both your students and colleagues.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5280 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2018\/05\/JiscDiscovery-Poster-2.png\" alt=\"Discover your digital capabilities - The digital discovery tool helps you reflect on your digital expertise and your confidence with digital technologies.\" width=\"767\" height=\"785\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2018\/05\/JiscDiscovery-Poster-2.png 767w, https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2018\/05\/JiscDiscovery-Poster-2-293x300.png 293w, https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2018\/05\/JiscDiscovery-Poster-2-45x45.png 45w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 100vw, 767px\" \/>Why are we using the Jisc Digital discovery tool?<\/h3>\n<p>For those of you who are engaging with the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/future-facing-learning\/\">Future Facing Learning programme<\/a> the Jisc Digital discovery tool is a key learning activity for you to assess your digital capabilities.\u00a0 The discovery tool is based on <a href=\"http:\/\/ji.sc\/digicap_ind_frame\">Jisc\u2019s digital capabilities framework<\/a>.\u00a0 We are offering this as a means for you to explore your digital practice both generally and within your teaching context. The results are intended for you to reflect on your digital capabilities and to explore possibilities during the programme in preparation for teaching with the FFL toolkit. The intention is for you to view your current capabilities now and retake the Discovery tool once you have embedded tools within your practice over the next academic year tracking your progress over time.<\/p>\n<h3>What is involved and who can assist me?<\/h3>\n<p>All the Digital Learning Developers on the programme will be on hand to assist you with signing up to the tool and ample time is given in the workshops to complete the process. Once you have signed up, you can complete two question sets, one about your overall digital capabilities and one on your digital capabilities for teaching. \u00a0These should take no longer than 15 minutes each. All the results are confidential, your individual answers cannot be viewed. You are assessing yourself, nobody else is judging you during the process. The questions are designed to challenge you and make you think about your digital practice. If there are any questions you feel unsure about please just give yourself the lowest score then more on.<\/p>\n<p>Each question set will generate a personalised report with suggestions for next steps and specific resources to engage with to develop your digital skills. If you feel you would like further support and to discuss your digital capabilities generally or your next steps please talk to one of the Digital Learning Developers or email <a href=\"mailto:elearning@tees.ac.uk\">elearning@tees.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>What will you do with my data?<\/h3>\n<p>As an organisation we will be able to view overall anonymous institutional data. This will help us to gauge levels of digital capability across Teesside University.
