Blackboard has introduced the option to add images to Learning Modules.<\/p>\n<p>Adding an image to a Learning Module can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fosters engagement and connection<\/strong>: Images establish a meaningful connection between the module content and students, making learning more captivating and the module material more relatable and appealing to students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Improves module visibility<\/strong>: Adding images boosts the visibility of Learning Modules, ensuring students easily spot and access the material they need and encourages them to explore the content further.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Visual cues for content<\/strong>: Images act as visual descriptions, giving students an overview of the content\u2019s nature and enhancing comprehension.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhanced retention of knowledge and understanding<\/strong>: Relevant images reinforce learning, aiding in memory retention and deepening students\u2019 understanding of complex topics.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a id=\"One\"><\/a>1. Adding an image to an existing Learning Module<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To add an image to an existing Learning Module, Module Leaders need to edit the module by selecting <strong>Edit<\/strong> from the <strong>Learning Module<\/strong> more options (ellipsis) menu.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-14215 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2023\/07\/P1_Image05.jpg\" alt=\"Image showing how to edit a pre-existing Learning Module to include an image.\" width=\"708\" height=\"146\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2023\/07\/P1_Image05.jpg 781w, https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2023\/07\/P1_Image05-300x62.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2023\/07\/P1_Image05-768x158.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 708px) 100vw, 708px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then follow the instructions from <a href=\"#One\">point 01<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\"><a href=\"#Top\">Back to top<\/a><\/p>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5><a id=\"Banner\"><\/a>Module Banner image improvements<\/h5>\n<p>A Module Banner is an image added to the top of your module homepage. The module banner image provides a sense of identity for the module, the use of the Module Banner offers many additional benefits including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Communication and Information<\/strong>: Module Leaders can use the banner to communicate essential information, such as the module title, Module Leader\u2019s name, and contact details. This ensures that students have quick access to relevant information within the module.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Visual Appeal<\/strong>: A module banner adds visual appeal to the module, making it more attractive and engaging for students. It creates a welcoming first impression, setting a positive tone for the learning experience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Branding and Identity<\/strong>: The banner allows Module Leaders to personalise their module by incorporating branding, module logos and other relevant images. This helps create a consistent identity for the module, reinforcing its association with Teesside University and School.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clear module Identification<\/strong>: When a student is a member of many modules in Blackboard, a distinctive module banner helps students easily identify and differentiate one module from another. This clarity can reduce confusion and enhance the overall navigation experience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhanced Instructor Presence<\/strong>: The module banner allows Module Leaders to make their presence felt. It adds a personal touch, making students feel more connected to them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Blackboard has improved the image setting workflow.\u00a0 Please see the screenshots below to review the update such.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p>To add a module image, select the Image button then select the image source by using the drag and drop or select \u2018<strong>Upload \u2018<strong>Next<\/strong>\u2019 to advance to the next image configuration screen.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%\">The image can also be repositioned and zoomed in on to select the image\u2019s focal point.\u00a0 Click \u2018<strong>Save<\/strong>\u2019 to complete the addition of a module banner.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>*Note<\/strong> regarding accessibility: ALT tags serve as descriptions that enable individuals with visual impairments to understand the content of the images through screen reading technology.\u00a0 If the image is simply decorative then tick the \u2018<strong>Mark the image as decorative<\/strong>\u2019 tick box option.\u00a0 Also, ensure that the colours and contrast used adhere to accessibility guidelines, making the module content more inclusive for all students.<\/p>\n<p>Once complete the module banner will look something like this.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full
