There are a number of different features available on Microsoft Teams that can make your meetings more accessible.<\/p>\n

Automated Captions<\/h3>\n

These are subtitles that translate spoken language into text. To switch on live captions in a meeting, go to your meeting controls and choose More options. > Turn on live captions.<\/p>\n

Automated Transcript<\/h3>\n

This is a written transcript that\u2019s recorded from the audio of your meeting automatically through speech-to-text software.<\/p>\n

To switch automated transcripts on:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Choose Start transcription<\/li>\n
  2. Go to the meeting controls and\u00a0select\u00a0More actions\u00a0***<\/li>\n
  3. Choose Hide transcript or Show transcript.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Transcripts are automatically saved into the chat area of your meeting and can be downloaded by the meeting host.<\/p>\n

    Speech-to-Text Reporter<\/h3>\n

    A speech-to-text reporter is someone who types everything that is said in a meeting, word-for-word. They can only be added to a meeting by the host.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Create and send the meeting invitation as usual. Remember to\u00a0invite the CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) captioner to the meeting<\/li>\n
    2. Open the meeting invite you created<\/li>\n
    3. Select\u00a0Meeting options<\/li>\n
    4. On the\u00a0Meeting options\u00a0page, turn on the\u00a0Provide CART Captions\u00a0switch, and then select\u00a0Save\u00a0to create the CART caption link<\/li>\n
    5. Paste the link to an email message and send it to the CART captioner to enter into their captioning software<\/li>\n
    6. Connect with the\u00a0CART captioner before the meeting to make sure everything is set up correctly<\/li>\n
    7. To use CART, go to your meeting controls and select\u00a0More options\u00a0\u00a0***\u00a0>\u00a0Turn on live captions. CART captions display by default.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
