{"id":13289,"date":"2023-01-16T12:00:03","date_gmt":"2023-01-16T12:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/?p=13289"},"modified":"2023-01-16T12:00:52","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T12:00:52","slug":"working-with-compassionate-pedagogies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/2023\/01\/16\/working-with-compassionate-pedagogies\/","title":{"rendered":"LTExChange Symposium Event &#8211; 18th January 2023 &#8211; Book Now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are delighted to have Professor Felton (Elon University, US) returning to facilitate a second (virtual) interactive event on <strong>Wednesday 18th January\u00a0 (13:00 \u2013 15:00hrs)<\/strong> that will garner a collective response to questions generating during the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/ltexchange\/ltexchange-symposia-series\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">LTE<\/span>x<span style=\"color: #800080\">Change<\/span><\/strong><\/a> Symposium Event on November 30th with focus on practical steps we can take on our own and with our colleagues to create a more relational, compassionate university.<\/p>\n<p>Taken together, this two-part interactive series offers a timely exploration of how we can make our work \u2013 and our institutions \u2013 more relational and compassionate.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Peter Felton delivered the first symposium event of the year on 30th November with a focus on the theme of \u2018The Compassionate Curriculum\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>We invite colleagues to review the recording of Professor Felton\u2019s talk and consider the three questions posed (see above) ahead of attending the second interactive event on January 18th.<\/p>\n<p>In this interactive talk Professor Felton discussed his respected international work in relationship-rich education in a wide-ranging exposition of relational approaches to pedagogic practice and learning design in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>Building on his review of this shifting landscape for student learning, Professor Felton posed several key questions:<\/p>\n<p>1. What do you do to cultivate educational relationships with\/among your students?<\/p>\n<p>2. What are significant barriers to developing these relationships?<\/p>\n<p>3.
