The call for abstracts for Three Rivers 2022: <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Engaging Students: Building Communities\u2019 is now open. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Building upon the success of previous partnership events held by the region\u2019s Universities (Teesside, Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland, and Northumbria), our theme for 2022 is \u2018Engaging Students: Building Communities\u2019. Three Rivers 2022 will be hosted online by Northumbria University. The keynote speaker for the conference is Prof Peter Felten<\/a>, executive director of the Centre for Engaged Learning, and professor of history at Elon University, US.<\/p>\n

The theme of\u00a0the\u00a0Three\u00a0Rivers Conference 2022 is how we engage students in learning through building communities.\u00a0The conference will look at how on campus communities support student engagement, contributing to a sense of belonging, and through this enhance retention and widening participation; as well as collaborations with communities and partners that create authentic inquiry based learning opportunities for students.<\/p>\n

Join a working group\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Colleagues are invited to join a working group that aligns with the conference themes. These groups\u00a0provide a forum for\u202fbringing\u202ftogether and\u202fsharing\u202fongoing work\u202facross\u202fthe five partner universities in the form of strategies, initiatives, and practices that\u202fengage students through building communities. Each working group will prepare for a panel presentation at the conference.<\/p>\n
