{"id":11766,"date":"2021-10-12T13:45:59","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T12:45:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/?p=11766"},"modified":"2021-10-12T13:45:59","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T12:45:59","slug":"ltstaffdevelopmentpgrptl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/2021\/10\/12\/ltstaffdevelopmentpgrptl\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning and Teaching Staff Development for PgR Students and Part Time Lecturers (PTL\u2019s)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Student Learning &amp; Academic Registry (SLAR) and School of Social Science Humanities and Law (SSSHL) are providing two learning and teaching staff development sessions to support our Post Graduate Researchers (involved in teaching and supporting learning) and our Part Time Lecturers.<\/p>\n<p>These are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PGR Learning and Teaching Induction and Digital Learning at Teesside University\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tuesday 19<sup>th<\/sup> October 1pm \u2013 2.30pm Via Teams<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>PGR New to Teaching Workshop\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Details to follow<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Learning and Teaching Induction will introduce colleagues to the various support that exists across the University and outline the University\u2019s strategic context (Teesside 2025) discussing Future Facing Learning and the Academic Enhancement Framework.\u00a0 During the session, we will signpost colleagues to key sources around learning and teaching (L &amp; T) support, networks and information (LTE Online) and will provide further information around the key roles and responsibilities of an academic. This will include content around Personal Tutoring, Assessment and Feedback, Continuous Monitoring and Evaluation (including Module Evaluations) and Digital Learning at TU.\u00a0 The University\u2019s Professional Development Framework and the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) will be discussed providing the opportunity for new academic staff to discuss specific needs relating to their future CPD and L &amp; T support.<\/p>\n<p>The New to Teaching Workshop will be facilitated by colleagues from the Education and Social Work Department in SSSHL.\u00a0 The session will focus on planning and delivering sessions and assessment, feedback and marking.\u00a0 There will be an opportunity to share challenges and experiences and concerns that you may have around teaching and supporting learning in Higher Education.<\/p>\n<p>Attendance at these sessions is a requirement for PGRs who will be involved in teaching and supporting learning at Teesside University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Any PGRs \/ PTLs wishing to attend these sessions should email <a href=\"mailto:lte@tees.ac.uk\">LTE@tees.ac.uk<\/a> and they will be invited along to the session.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Student Learning &amp; Academic Registry (SLAR) and School of Social Science Humanities and Law (SSSHL) are providing two learning and teaching staff development sessions to support our Post Graduate Researchers (involved in teaching and supporting learning) and our Part Time Lecturers.
