href=\"http:\/\/blog.simplek12.com\/social-media\/talk-back-to-the-edtech-pros\/\" target=\"_blank\">SimpleK12 two-minute talks<\/a> (that I\u2019d thoroughly recommend), I found myself going through the usual steps of opening about thirty different browser windows to lots of linked sites when I <a title=\"Suzie Vesper's Wiki\" href=\"http:\/\/educationalsoftware.wikispaces.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">stumbled across a wiki<\/a> created by someone named Suzie Vesper who\u2019s an ICT Facilitator in New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"margin-left: 10px\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2010\/09\/blogPost.png\" alt=\"Suzie Vesper's Wiki\" width=\"380\" height=\"266\" \/><a title=\"Suzie Vesper's Wiki\" href=\"http:\/\/educationalsoftware.wikispaces.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The wiki<\/a> is quite an interesting read.\u00a0 If you\u2019re looking for a tool to perform a particular task you may well find it here.\u00a0 Even if you don\u2019t have a task in mind and are simply interested in investigating what\u2019s out there, it\u2019s well worth a look.\u00a0 I think colleagues may find the following &#8220;Sections of the Wiki&#8221; (as Suzie calls them) particularly useful:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Online Tools\" href=\"http:\/\/educationalsoftware.wikispaces.com\/Online+tools\" target=\"_blank\">Online Tools<\/a> (lots of useful online resources for a variety of tasks)<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Media Libraries\" href=\"http:\/\/educationalsoftware.wikispaces.com\/Online+Media+Libraries\" target=\"_blank\">Media Libraries<\/a> (Image, Video and Audi resources)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a title=\"Handy Online Tools\" href=\"http:\/\/educationalsoftware.wikispaces.com\/Online+tools\" target=\"_blank\">Online Tools area<\/a> in particular contains links to (and, in most cases, descriptions of) lots of useful online tools, handily organised into categories.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, back to the <a title=\"SimpleK12 two-minute talks\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.simplek12.com\/social-media\/talk-back-to-the-edtech-pros\/\" target=\"_blank\">SimpleK12 two-minute talks<\/a>.\u00a0 This site, as the name suggests, isn\u2019t specifically for Higher Education but some of the tools people are discussing in their short talks can just as easily be used in HE as they can in &#8216;K12\u2019.\u00a0 <a title=\"xtranormal\" href=\"http:\/\/www.xtranormal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">XtraNormal<\/a>, for example, is something the E-learning Team have checked out on numerous occasions and indeed used to create cartoons for use in online modules.\u00a0 <a title=\"Prezi\" href=\"http:\/\/prezi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Prezi <\/a>is a great online presentation tool that a few of our team have used for various presentations.\u00a0 In fact I used it to present my Final Year Degree project!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin-right: 10px\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/files\/2010\/09\/blogPost2.png\" alt=\"voice thread examples\" width=\"267\" height=\"213\" \/>Something new to me was VoiceThread.\u00a0 I won\u2019t try and explain what it is &#8211; you\u2019d be much better off checking out the <a title=\"VoiceThread intro\" href=\"https:\/\/voicethread.com\/?#q.b409.i848804\" target=\"_blank\">Introduction VoiceThread<\/a> or listening to <a title=\"Short talk on VoiceThread\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.simplek12.com\/education\/2mett-voicethread\/\" target=\"_blank\">Steven Anderson\u2019s short talk on SimpleK12<\/a>. \u00a0 Sadly, as with most good things(!), it\u2019s not free so I doubt we\u2019ll be licensing it at Teesside.\u00a0 Still, I found it interesting so thought I\u2019d give it a mention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whilst checking
