It is modelled on the US <a href=\"http:\/\/nsse.indiana.edu\/html\/about.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Survey of Student Engagement<\/a> (NSSE).<\/p>\n<p>UKES explores student engagement in activities linked to high-quality learning outcomes, and provides us with feedback on how students are challenged and encouraged by their studies. This will allow us to develop a stronger evidence base for enhancing learning and teaching across the University.<\/p>\n<p>The survey explores a number of themes, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical thinking<\/li>\n<li>Learning with others<\/li>\n<li>Interacting with staff<\/li>\n<li>Reflecting and connecting<\/li>\n<li>Course challenge<\/li>\n<li>Engagement with research and inquiry<\/li>\n<li>Staff-student partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Skills development<\/li>\n<li>How students spend their time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/projects\/surveys\/ukes\/ukes-staff-guide-2019\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6909\">UKES Staff Guide 2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/lteonline\/projects\/surveys\/ukes\/ukes-student-guide-2019\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6910\">UKES Student Guide 2019<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UK Engagement Survey (UKES) is the only national undergraduate survey to focus on student engagement in the UK.
