Together with Turnitin, Teesside University is hosting an institution-wide event
\nbringing together a wide range of academics and practitioners to discuss how we
\ncontinue to reimagine the support for the development of students\u2019 academic skills in
\nlight of generative AI tools. With the rise of generative AI systems like ChatGPT, this
\nadds another layer of complexity to the issue of academic integrity. These systems
\ncan generate humanlike responses to a wide range of prompts, including essay
\nquestions. The question is: If the AI is good enough to produce something that could
\nbe a student\u2019s work, how will we ever really know what is the student\u2019s work and
\nwhat was done by a machine? The event will be collaborative and aims to encourage
\nconversations around how learning, knowledge creation, and assessments practices
\ncan be reimaged to support the development of future-readiness in our graduates.<\/p>\n
