SUMMARY:Recognising Excellence in Learning and Teaching (RELT) Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is specifically for colleagues who would like to seek formal recognition for the work they do in teaching and supporting learning in HE.  Teesside University Professional Development Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning: Recognising Excellence in Learning and Teaching (RELT) is accredited by Advance HE and provides participants with the opportunity to be professionally recognised through Advance HE’s Fellowship Scheme. \nIt is relevant for all colleagues involved in teaching and supporting learning and will provide colleagues with a greater understanding around how the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) relates to their professional practice.  Formal\, external recognition of individual teaching and supporting learning expertise is becoming increasingly important for both individual staff and HEI’s.  Teesside University is accredited to award a range of Fellowships (HEA)\, as appropriate\, to our staff at no cost to the individual. \nTo book this workshop please click here.

SUMMARY:LTExChange Symposium Event - The Compassionate Curriculum
DESCRIPTION:Title: Relationship-rich education: compassionate pedagogies for students – and for us \nDecades of research demonstrates that the quality of student-staff and student-student interactions are foundational to engaging\, inclusive\, and purposeful learning. Educational relationships influence motivation\, learning\, belonging\, and achievement for all students\, and particularly for students with identities that have been excluded from or marginalized in higher education. These relationships are not only good for students; significant conversations among trusted colleagues have been shown to be crucial for faculty and staff learning\, growth\, inclusion\, and well-being. In this interactive session\, we will explore how we can make our work – and our institutions – more relational and compassionate. \nTo book a place this event please click here.  \n
