SUMMARY:Personal Tutoring: Managing boundaries and knowing when to refer when dealing with student mental health and welfare
DESCRIPTION:This session will focus on information for student facing staff who might be presented with a student in distress. The session aims to inform staff about strategies they can use to de-escalate a situation and what questions to ask to find out relevant information to refer appropriately. Boundaries will be explored so that staff feel confident about appropriate actions when managing a potential crisis situation and can identify when specialist intervention is required. The session will inform staff how to refer to appropriate services both within TU and externally. \nTo book please click here.

SUMMARY:Designing Learning Experiences on Blackboard Ultra
DESCRIPTION:Blackboard Ultra is the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It is a modern\, responsive platform\, designed to function on all devices (including mobile)\, and is used for all our campus taught courses. \nA series of monthly institution-wide sessions aimed at colleagues in Schools understand the basics of Blackboard Ultra and get to grips with the features they will be expected to use when setting up and delivering modules and assessing learning. A key feature of these sessions will be to help colleagues design impactful learning experiences on the VLE\, ensuring that the VLE becomes an expansion of the learning ecosystem. \nTo book a place on this session please click here.  \nIn addition to these monthly sessions\, we encourage you to reach out to us for one-to-one coaching on course design on the VLE via elearning@tees.ac.uk. \nWe have prepared for all staff a self-study CPD package of learning here: https://blogs.tees.ac.uk/lteonline/2021/10/05/blackboard-ultra-self-study-cpd-2/
