Recognising Excellence in Learning and Teaching (RELT) Workshop

This workshop is specifically for colleagues who would like to seek formal recognition for the work they do in teaching and supporting learning in HE. Teesside University Professional Development Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning: Recognising Excellence in Learning and Teaching (RELT) is accredited by Advance HE and provides participants with the opportunity to be professionally recognised through Advance HE’s Fellowship Scheme.

Developing Practice in Personal Tutoring: PT Code of Practice
Tuesday 10th May 2022, 1pm-2pm via MS Teams
This session will focus around the University’s Personal Tutoring Code of Practice; we will discuss its aims and rationale and the key principles that form the basic underpinning of the Code. We will explore the key responsibilities of Personal Tutoring at Teesside and the pastoral, academic and professional/career conversations that take place between tutor and tutee.

Assessment Regulations and Assessment Boards
Wednesday 11th May 2022, 3.30pm-5pm, via MS Teams
The Workshop is available to academic and professional staff who are involved in the assessment board process. The workshop will provide a summary of the role of Assessment Boards and External Examiners, a summary of the Assessment Regulations (focus on undergraduate but with reference to other assessment regulations).

Continuous Monitoring and Enhancement (CME)
Thursday 12th May 2022, 11am-12noon via MS Teams
Continuous Monitoring and Enhancement (CME) is the process the University uses to assure academic standards are maintained and to enhance the quality of learning opportunities for students. This session will be particularly relevant for new Course Leaders or existing Course Leaders wanting a reminder. It will provide an understanding of the University’s CME process and in particular discuss the Course Journal which is the main mechanism for CME providing the means to ensure the effectiveness and currency of courses and encourages continued enhancement through ongoing reflection.
