In a recent presentation that I had done with a group, there was a focus on Hartlepool and its tourist attractions and creating a guide. However, one aspect which was not investigated, was how the local council’s roles and functions help the town flourish.
First, overlook the public services which are put in place; the process of managing the local education system, and ensuring a satisfactory quality for children and young people. The input of social care helps support more vulnerable groups of people including the elderly, and those with disabilities who may need aid. This allows the local community, to engage with the people and create a better lifestyle for those Lastly, housing, for all those who may not be able to get their own, managing public housing, helping the homeless, ensuring standard for a quality life are met with the basics offered.
A regeneration with a large investment in the major areas within the town, such as the old post office in Whitby Street, will be refurbished and extended for a startup for businesses in the creative industry sector. Thus, it will be known as The BIS. Further down, within Church Street, the architecture will be enhanced, and small, engraved stones will be placed to tell the story of each building and its individual history.
In addition, the local infrastructure for local transport connections, managing local roads, and public transport. There is a future strategy, which will highlight how the transport impacts residents, visitors as well as businesses. With this, a large increase of employment opportunities atria, helping boost the local economies.
To summarise; Hartlepool Borough Council is a critical aspect of the everyday functions and the well-being of the community. Highlighting all the details and responsibilities helps enhance the quality of the town.
