I sourced this image from the Microsoft copilot to get a better understanding of tourism and the variations of why tourism is difficult to define.
One definition of tourism is that it is a social, cultural and economic phenomenon which requires the movement of people to countries, cities and more places which are outside their regular day to day environment. Some reasons why those will travel to different places which will class as tourists are because of business travel, travel for your own leisure or culture.
Another factor that will affect the trouble of defining tourism is that there is a diverse between duration and distance as some types of tourism require travel that will be over a certain distance or for a period of time. However, many other types of tourism are just trips within your local area. There is a level of inconstancy which affects how tourism measured and understood .
