Due to some technical errors in Maya I have had to make some changes to the model. instead of creating the engravings for the cross guard, I will now be making a sheath for the sword. I wanted to create something substantial for the asset to make it more appealing to look at instead of it being plain and boring. I also wanted to keep I’m constrains in mind when I made the decision on changing some of the parts. As I did not want to run out of time creating the model.
This week I began unwrapping the low poly version of the weapon, once I have finished this part I will place the asset into substance painter and bake the high poly detail onto the low poly.
This week I finalised the low poly version of my asset and began creating the high poly version. to do this I jus cloned the low poly version and put some edge loops in and smoothed it to create a more streamline version.
this week I began creating the Low poly variant of my sword. by using the Blockout as I guide I have started to create he blade of the sword and the handle. the next part will be creating the engravings for the sword and the handle.
This week i started creating the blockout of the asset. the main importance of this stage, is that it gives me a general idea of how its going to look like and what the sizes will be like. through this stage it allowed me to understand how the weapon was originaly created and how it should look, which helped in keeping it historically accurate
This week I focused on creating a proposal which details the asset I am going to be creating for the Three Kingdoms DLC pack
This was important because it allowed people to see what ideas I have and what I’m going to be creating, and what tools I will be using
Hello this is the start to my blog. This week I was working on research into what weapon I will be creating for the 3 Kingdoms asset pack. Through doing research I have been able to find out a various amount of information revolving around ancient china, varying from the weapons, armour and buildings that were present during the times. By focusing on weapons I have found a suitable amount of pictures to help me in creating my asset for this module.
