Brewers yeast, also known as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, is a uni-cellular fungus which is most well known for being an ingredient in the production of bread and beer. It can also however be used as a food supplement for certain health benefits due to it being a good source of vitamin B and chromium, which can aid the body in maintaining regular blood sugar levels. It is also considered to be a probiotic and may be used to aid digestive processes.
