{"id":78810,"date":"2023-06-15T07:57:24","date_gmt":"2023-06-15T06:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/environment\/?p=78810"},"modified":"2024-12-05T11:56:51","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T11:56:51","slug":"florida-comes-to-vindolanda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.tees.ac.uk\/environment\/2023\/06\/15\/florida-comes-to-vindolanda\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida comes to Vindolanda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the highlights of research is being able to share your enthusiasm with visitors, and this week <a href=\"https:\/\/research.tees.ac.uk\/en\/persons\/jamie-bojko\">Dr Jamie Bojko<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/research.tees.ac.uk\/en\/persons\/gillian-taylor\">Dr Gillian Taylor<\/a> hosted a group of students from University of Florida at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vindolanda.com\/\">Vindolanda<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/romanarmymuseum.com\/\">Magna<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The students were from diverse subject areas, but were fascinated by the talk from CEO Vindolanda Excavations &#8211; Dr Andrew Birley showing wooden structure from the earliest roman fort and (after a small hill and hot walk!) the stunning views that Hadrians Wall has to offer. The weather was hot but apparently cool in comparison to florida!
