Introduction

This website will explore both a chosen unicellular organism (Amoeba proteus) and a multicellular animal (Rattus norvegicus) and compare them in terms of the following themes: Adaptation and Diversification, Biotic Interaction, Metabolism and Reproduction.

Introduction to each species:

Amoeba proteus is a unicellular amoeba that can be found in freshwater. It is also sometimes referred to using the name Chaos diffluens as it is closely related to the genus Chaos.

Rattus norvegicus (also known as the brown rat or common rat, aswell as several other colloquial names), is a rodent species which has become very widespread; the brown rat can be found wherever humans are.
